(Microdrilled pinholes) in my mailbox

Filed under: pinhole — tofunao @ 4:07 pm

-Left side stuff is coming from France, Sténocaméra, diameter = 0.16 mm, but they got many sizes for your choice. Is not laser drilled but “, micro drilled in a 0.001 inch. brass foil”, and the result is the same high quality. The presentation is cute and professional, and the pinholed metal is surrounded by a thick strong paper, ready to attach. Instructions or exposure calculator are not included, but u can ask them directly stenocamera@wanadoo.fr .Prize is 12euros.

You can order from theis Ebay shop or check the sample gallery made with this pinholes

-Right side stuff is coming from Uk, Pinhole Solutions, i choose a 0,20mm diameter. Laser pinhole microdrilled in a thin metal piece, with a stiker ready to paste in. The quality looks as excelent as expected They include a paper exposure calculator with a pin. and some intructions. Prize was £12 with shipping and everything included. Some galleries prove the high quality of their products here.

If u are in the Usa i guess you got many more choices for purchasing pinholes, but i think this is ok for us in europe.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

.Oh, one more thing to comment. If you ever visited the web from zero image pinhole from Hong kong, you might see they “give a big fuck” to a company from Birmingham, UK claiming for boycott. ( i mean this ). And as you can guess they are talking about Pinhole solutions/pinhole factory. I knew about this before my transaction, and i can just say Tim replied all my mails kindly, he always was pretty nice to me, and the shipping was fast for sure making it all a happy deal. Beside this, what I’m trying to say is.. you can’t blame someone who distributed your cameras about copying, just cause later he started his own produciton with a similar thing.. i mean, come on boy… is a wooden box with a hole in the middle, you will find thousand models with similar design in many aspects to the Zero cameras, handcrafted or factory made, and most them much much older than the Hongkonese company. I like zero image products and for sure they know what they do when producing cameras, but really, is not something just coming from their imagination… so from here tofu nao give a positive feedback to Tim Norgate and encourage pinhole solutions to keep on the good work and producing high quality pinhole stuff.

(holgaroid revision). Not just Square format

Filed under: Holgaroid, camera, polaroid, toycamera — tofunao @ 2:36 pm

If you are a disappointed Holgaroid user, since the decision for stopping the square packfilm production, or if you are still thinking in convert your holga in a Polaroid Packfilm camera, you may love this entri. The new Holgaroid (Or polaroid back holder for Holga) supports all pack film formats from 80 to 100 range, who means all the packfilms you can find except the Big 4×5 format. The list of available films is pretty good from now on. And if you like to get discontinued stuff, it will be even bigger (types marked as 100 or 80 will fit the holder), perfect oportunity to try the 669 if u never did. The cheaper prize i could find for it it´s 109€ at unsaleable . I admit i bought a polaroid propack camera for 30€ in ebay, who can shoot the exactly same range of films than this holder (100 and 80 packfilms), and there are other cheap ways to shoot both range of films in the same camera as u can see here (all them labeled under 100 and 80) like the Super Shooter,Clincher,EE55,EE58,etc… Anyway i understand people still love going out with the Holga and its plastic features. Whatever.

Holder feautures:

* Full frame Polaroid Back, carefully developed to affiliate the legendary Holga 120 Cameras

* New improved version, designed to use small (Type 80) AND large (Type 100) Polaroid packfilm (Film not included)

* Darkslide protection for securing the film and changing the PolaroidBack without loosing exposures

* Made out of durable high quality materials, based on the original Polaroid CB103 Filmback

* Including foldable viewfinder and correction lense.

* Designed and produced by A Power in Japan.

(Demekin) Firts touch.

Filed under: camera, toycamera — tofunao @ 12:38 pm

I had this super cute gift a few months ago, from the same friend who bought me the Harinezumi.
Demekin is another 110 camera, super small, and with wide angle lens for a fishy effect!. And so far i think Is produced by Superheadz from Japan.
Since i can´t do Xprocess with 110 film, i tried to get some special colors with the Salty water Trick, and i made the big mistake of leave the film in the salt water for 1 whole night (I know this should be done for 2 or 3 hours max). So i just get a few pics. I really wanna try again. Is a cute toy camera.

(Stereo Pinhole), with Otona no Kagaku vol.14

Filed under: DIY, camera, pinhole, stereo, toycamera — tofunao @ 7:34 pm

Do u got a camera for the World wide pinhole day?, hurry!, is coming next april!. If not, you may be interested in pick up the last issue from the japanese magazine http://otonanokagaku.net/. The Vol.14 features a DIY Kit with all the things you need for a fast build of what looks a really cool Stereo pinhole Camera(for standard 135mm film). And maybe i’m wrong but in the sample picture you can see some panoramic shoots, so maybe this is an extra feature.
As it’s obvious, the intruction Manual PDF comes in Japanese, but i think it looks pretty intuitive with tones of graphics.

You can purchase it for 30$ at the :
Official site

or

other english tongue store

(LensBaby serving for plastics), i’d wish

Filed under: Holga, camera — tofunao @ 5:39 pm

It was interesting reading at the Lensbabies web site to discover that Craig Strong invented the Lensbaby as a way to bring out the qualities of the Holga camera to the digital age. The Holga, whoa?!”
http://www.camerahobby.com/Review-LensBaby.htm

“Most people who like dreamy, holga/pinhole affects really like the Original LB” http://lensbabies.com/faq/

First time i saw a lensbaby, it was at the lomography shop in Madrid, exactly 1 year ago now. I liked the idea pretty much, but somehow the sample pictures was not my style, i could see that the color and texture was that high-fi, grainless, perfect and clean that i mostly dislike from the digital cameras. So the guy told me it was just for those pro SLR (canon, nikos, etc) with interchangable lenses features, and i could understand why i didn’t like that samples at all. At that point i loose all my interest in the gadget, but i still liked the effect, place the focus in an specific part of the picture brings nice ideas to my mind.

Recently i made a few searchs in the web looking for improvements in the Lensbaby, i mean, i still expect someone will attach it to some low-fi camera and maybe i will really start putting interest in the thing. i couldn’t find big results, beside other people asking for Holga+lensababy in some forums, etc, but at least someone is still making experiments with the HOLGA . I’m really looking forward for more results trying the lensbaby with film toys(i know many people already tried in pre digital cameras), i hope someone do, or at least they realise a capable version for Holga cameras(it’s not so hard to remove that holga lens), or maybe an Holga with the lensbaby already attached, or whatever. I don’t have one of those pro cameras with interchangable lenses, and i don’t plan to.

At the time, it looks like this in film high-fi cameras: Flickr Gallery
